Pimped Up Bone Broth – Two Ways (#1 Avocado Bone Brothy)
Forget coffee … everyone’s pimping up bone broth! Bone broth is trending everywhere as a ‘forgotten’ superfood. Indeed, a well made bone broth (or meat stock) is not only a intensely flavoursome experience, it’s a truly healing medicine.

Pimping-up broth
So, back to pimping (we’re resisting puns about broth-els!) here’s our double-take on a nutrient-dense, metabolism boosting, digestive healing, anti-inflammatory cup of bullet-proofed bone brothy goodness.
- Avocado Bone Brothy (My own super-charged recipe)
- Bullet-proof Bone Broth (Adapted from East West Healing and Performance)
Food provenance
Pasture-raised meats, dairy, eggs and wild caught fish have a vastly superior nutritional profile, as do organic, or cleanly grown fruits and vegetables. Please try to source your food as well as you are able.

- 250 ml bone broth (chicken or beef)
- 1/2 avocado (roughly chopped)
- 1 tsp coconut oil
- 1 tblsp unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp collagen hydrolysate (like Great Lakes brand)
- Squeeze lemon juice
- 1 egg yolk (optional, but recommended)
- 1/2 tsp sea salt (or to taste - Maldon or Cornish)
- pinch black pepper (freshly ground, to taste)
Ingredients

- Put all the dry ingredients into the bowl of a food processor (or you can use a stick blender) with a little of the bone broth and whiz until smooth.
- Over a low heat, warm the bone broth and whisk in the avocado mixture and egg yolk, if using. Heat until a comfortable drinking temperature, whisking well all the time.
- Adjust seasoning to taste and enjoy yourself!
