Pimped Up Bone Broth – Two Ways (#2: Bullet-Proofed Bone Broth )
Forget coffee … everyone’s pimping up bone broth! Bone broth is trending everywhere as a ‘forgotten’ superfood. Indeed, a well made bone broth (or meat stock) is not only a intensely flavoursome experience, it’s a truly healing medicine.

Pimping-up broth
So, back to pimping (I’ll resist puns about broth-els!) here’s my double-take on a nutrient-dense, metabolism boosting, digestive healing, anti-inflammatory cup of bullet-proofed bone brothy goodness.

Food provenance
Pasture-raised meats, dairy, eggs and wild caught fish have a vastly superior nutritional profile, as do organic, or cleanly grown fruits and vegetables. Please try to source your food as well as you are able.

- 250 mls bone broth (or meat stock)
- 50 mls coconut milk (and/or coconut oil, ghee, double cream)
- 1 tbsp collagen hydrolysate
- 1 tsp turmeric (optional, but good to use)
- 1 egg (whisked)
- To taste sea salt (Maldon or Cornish)
- To taste black (freshly ground)
Ingredients

- In a small saucepan, gently warm the first four ingredients.
- When fairly warm, but not piping hot, whisk in the egg, salt and pepper to taste.
- Continue heating gently until the broth is at a comfortable drinking temperature. Avoid heating the broth excessively, or the egg will cook and will be stringy.
- Adjust the seasonings and enjoy!
