Resistance is futile…
What’s been happening in your week?

Has it been crazy busy and frustrating? Or at times empty and depressing? Or has it been busy, but peaceful and fulfilling?
My week has been mega-busy (client calls, two corporate workshops/cooking demos and a habit-changing ‘Releasing Time’ seminar) but this week, it’s actually peaceful and fulfilling!
Being more, doing less, but achieving more
Self-discovery within a supportive group is a pow-er-ful process! I was inspired, surprised, encouraged, and in turn humbled, provoked, challenged and educated – by the facilitators and fellow participants at a retreat weekend.
There truly are some utterly amazing people in the world and it was so enlightening to see that, no matter what age, gender or nationality – we all have the capacity for empathy and for helping and supporting each other.
In a thought provoking, emotional, liberating and invigorating 60 hours’ process, I was supported to experience my thoughts, feelings and emotions on the cognitive, the intuitive, and the tactile (wow, this was mind-blowing!) level. And we literally, got to get out of our minds… to begin experiencing our lives.
These are just some of our ‘light-bulb’ moments that I want to share with you:
- The most important thing in our life is us right here, right now…
- Are we living fully live… or dying slowly?
- The right moment will never come – there is only this moment…
- Everything that happens starts in us…
- Holding on to negative emotions keeps us living ‘below-the-line’…
- When we say “I can’t”, we often mean “I won’t”…
- Resistance born of fear is crippling…
- What we resist, persists…
- Resistance is futile; to gain control, we must first lose control…
- To experience ‘having’, we need to release the ‘wanting’…
- We need to hold down the ‘release’ button, while pushing on the door…

The last wisdom was actually an instructional sign for the security doors at the retreat venue! Call it co-incidence? Maybe, but it absolutely summed up the weekend!
Take responsibility for your feelings – they speak louder than your words
My mantra is food is our best medicine, but it’s not the only medicine – to find true health we must nurture a whole life. So ladies, hold some space for yourselves over this weekend for simple exercise:
- Ponder the wisdoms above.
- Examine any feelings that they may bring up for you.
- Ask yourself the question: “What is it in me that is creating my reality.” Be honest.
- Take respons-ibility to let go.
- … and see what happens?!
I’d love you to share with us your thoughts, feelings and experiences.
So what are you waiting for?
