Charley, Six Month Reset Package:

Here’s why Charley decided to do the Six Month Reset Package…

Why did I want to do the programme in the first place?  I was fed up with feeling rubbish all the time, really tired, hormones up and down – my poor husband couldn’t put up with me!  I heard about Isabel and Kirsty through a family friend – he was doing really well on their Six Month Reset Package.  I wanted a little bit of that!

I’d thought about doing various things in the past and we had looked at our diet, as our daughter was struggling with gut reactions to dairy and soya and to then raisins and pulses, so our diet was getting more and more limited.

Isabel and Kirsty came just at the right time and I started the Six Month Reset Package in the New Year.

I kept a food diary for a couple of weeks and the first thing we did was go through it. It highlighted to me just how much convenience food I was eating.  I actually thought I had a quite a healthy diet, because I ate healthy meals, but day to day I was heavily reliant on baked goods (lots of cakes and biscuits), really because I felt so low in energy all of the time and was grabbing what I could, trying to make myself feel better.

We asked Charley what she liked most about the Six Month Reset Package…

I realise now that I had quite a negative relationship with food, caused by several years of using food as a coping mechanism… mostly through Uni and then being heavily sleep deprived after having my daughter.  Isabel and Kirsty showed me really simple, yet effective strategies to make myself feel better.

They showed us a plan of how to reintroduce the foods we’d cut out of our diet – excluding soya!  But the dairy is phenomenal – my daughter can now take all dairy, we do have raw milk and high quality produce and I think that’s the real difference.

There’s a lot more to the programme than sorting out your diet. I’d really wanted to lose weight, but that’s no longer a priority; I want to be healthy, not thin. I want to (and do) love myself – something which I never thought I’d say!

With the help and guidance from both Kirsty and Isabel and with the really personal service that they give, I felt like I was chatting to two of my best friends. It was really helpful to know that someone else was on my wave length when I was making decisions about diet, or my daughter’s health; that I’d got someone who really understood me.  I’d wanted to go down the route of natural medicine, but not had the confidence to break from the ‘norm’. With their help, I feel that I’m doing a pretty good job of looking after myself and my daughter!

One thing that the programme has done – probably the best thing – is that it’s given me the tools to be able to recognise patterns in my health and behaviour and most of the time, it all links to what I eat.  We don’t eat perfectly and we still have ‘treats’, but we know when we’ve had a treat: we get digestive discomfort! Sometimes it’s worth it… sometimes it not worth it!

I’m also able to notice patterns in my mood – with Kirsty’s help I noted that it was probably due to blood sugar; I was craving a lot of sugar and bread and stodgy foods, but quite quickly I was able to turn myself around and get back on form!

Another of the small changes I made, was to eat a carrot a day in a salad, or I’ll just grab one. Within a couple of days, I started to feel more awake, almost felt like my system was being cleansed.  That was brilliant!  I’d really recommend this to anyone – in fact I do recommend it to family and friends.

Another change they recommended was to really take care of myself – I spent the last year completely and wholeheartedly taking care of my daughter and I’d completely forgotten about myself; I was breastfeeding and feeling completely drained!

They highlighted how important it was to look after myself as well, so I started daily yoga when my daughter was having a nap and walking barefoot in the garden for re-grounding.  I also joined the gym.  I only go once or twice a week, with a friend and it’s really good for me to just switch-off and have some time for me.

We also bought a dog!  Isabel and Kirsty said to get outside and get exercising, so now I’m out walking twice a day and playing in the garden!  Though it’s summer at the moment, I’m hoping to continue throughout the winter, as I think it’s one of the biggest improvements I’ve made to my health – I love being outside now!

Another big change – I went back to work, something that I didn’t think I’d want to do after having my daughter.  They gave me permission to be myself, as well as a mum!

When we asked Charley if she would recommend the Six Month Reset Package – here’s what she said:

Would I recommend the programme to other people?  I can wholeheartedly say yes, I definitely would!

In six months a LOT has changed – for one, I’m no longer miserable, no longer an emotional wreck for my poor husband, who was dealing with a really stressful job and a really stressful wife!

I also feel I can make informed decisions about our diet – we now buy from local farms: our fruit and veg come from one farm and our meat from another farm – we can actually talk to the people who have reared the animals.  We also get our raw milk from another local farm and the lady there is so supportive – and again – you can see the cows in the field, which my daughter absolutely loves.

It feels like we’ve made a whole lifestyle change – even simple things like changing our cleaning products.  I’d wanted things to be more natural for myself for ages and then I didn’t want my daughter to be exposed to chemicals – with that bit of guidance and support, I was able to make the change.  And it felt so good throwing everything away all in one go!

So yes, I’d 100% recommend!  And I hope that I still stay in contact with Kirsty and Isabel in the future, because they’ve become really close friends!
